Into the Light Horse Rescue and Sanctuary is a non-profit organization seeking to rescue, rehabilitate, re-home or provide sanctuary to slaughter bound horses.

Located in San Jose, California and Pierce, Colorado, the rescue is currently home to 20 horses. We primarily rescue broodmares and foals from Colorado feedlots, nurturing them and giving them another chance at life. With hard work and time, these horses develop into amazing, loving creatures -- regardless of the horrifying neglect and abuse they came from. It brings us joy to watch newborn foals develop into promising young horses and broodmares to live out their days with dignity, never again knowing the dangers of the slaughter pipeline.
